Origins
Decision Resources, Ltd. (DRL) is a full-service market and research firm.
Incorporated in 1983 to fill a void in the market and opinion research industry:
one leaving many municipalities, school districts, counties, and public affairs
officials few options for understanding the opinions of the clientele they
serve. Since its inception, DRL has worked with clients across the nation
in the private, public, and political sectors, including corporations, local
governments, religious organizations, business organizations, and non-profit
organizations. The firm's main offices are located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Services
As a full-service firm, all word-processing, printing, sample selection, interview
tabulation, and computer analysis are undertaken on-site. All telephone surveys
are conducted from the DRL telephone bank located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Company personnel administer in-home interviews, elite and specialized research,
and focus groups. Computer and statistical analyses are obtained from our
MENTOR data analysis system, augmented with SPSS statistical programs, to
insure both access to the most current statistical analysis programs and confidentiality
of the data set.
Staff
The company is composed of forty full-time and part-time employees. The main principals of the firm, Bill Morris and Diane Traxler, possess extensive backgrounds in marketing, public affairs, survey research, and statistical methods. Project Director Peter Leatherman insures that all research is conducted effectively, thoroughly, and timely. Administrative Director Jennifer Batteen oversees project flow and client relations.
Community Work
To complement the firm's demonstrated research and statistical experience,
Bill is committed to educating the public about research methods and to dispelling
common myths about survey validity. His success in providing understandable
survey results to DRL clients is greatly due to Bill's seeing data interpretation
as "the art form behind the science." Thus, when clients or media
representatives ask for interpretations or reactions to survey results, DRL
can offer commentaries that are both understandable and comprehensive.
